Good, but has some Opportunities
The chair successfully achieves what it set out for, but has a couple problem areas for me. Pros: 1) Assembly - This came in a total of 3 pieces, not counting the casters. I found it amusing that SecretLab would send me a video showing me how to put it together with a strong recommendation to watch it before receiving the chair. The video took 30 seconds to watch and actual assembly took maybe 3 minutes, most of the time was spent on the casters. 2) Adjustments - Pretty easy to customize. The levers on the arms are unique and feel natural. I like the design. The crank on the bottom is a bit strange and I can't tell if turning it is actually doing anything, but everything else adjusts pretty well. The armrests are also pretty adjustable, though it wouldn't hurt to have a means of locking the arms in fixed positions as they do rotate if I casually bump into them. 3) Mesh - I love the mesh. The seat is super comfortable. It's difficult to find any faults with the comfort of the seat itself. It's well supported and easily adjustable. 4) Appearance - I really like the look of this chair. The chrome/silver really pops. 5) Breathable - I live in Arizona and although it's winter time, I can tell you that mesh is about as breathable as it gets. I can sit for long periods of time and never get hot. This was the primary selling point for me. 6) The Box - It's huge! My kids turned it into a trading post and played with it for a couple weeks before they got bored of it. Best Christmas present ever! Cons: 1) Lumbar - While I'm sure most people would really enjoy the lumbar support with this chair, it's a bit too pronounced and too firm for me. It adjusts up and down, and sort of in and out, but the lumbar and mesh are always the same distance apart, so it's never going to be more or less pronounced. If I feel the lumbar with my hands, it feels like it should be soft enough, with about a half inch of soft padding, but sitting in it isn't nearly as comfortable as I hoped it would be. If I'm putting my full weight against the back of the chair, it feels as if I'm leaning against an arm rail. I'm sure this is compounded by my improper posture, so take this with a grain of salt. I'm sure someone who sits properly will find this more comfortable and the lumbar will be completely comfortable. 2) Headrest - Others might complain because there's no headrest, but the lack of a headrest was one of the things that drew me to the chair. Due to past bad experiences with chairs, I wanted a chair without a headrest so I could stretch my arms in the air and lean my head back. However, if I try to do this, I sometimes **** the back of my head on a hard piece of plastic. A slight amount of padding here would solve this problem. I ended up taking all the padding off of my old chair and slipping it over the NeueChair to solve both the lumbar and headrest issues. 3) Armrests - The armrests are a bit firmer than I'm used to. I had to layer the armrest with socks to prevent pain in my elbows. 4) Frame - The chair looks really nice with the silver popping out at the right places, but there's an awful lot of hard plastic areas. Aside from near the head/neck area, the right and left edges of the seat have hard plastic supporting them. This means that your feet may need to remain on the floor. Crossing one or both legs, or folding your legs up under you aren't going to be comfortable. Overall: A part of me wishes I had purchased the Omega with Charcoal Softweave Fabric rather than the NeueChair. I think the NeueChair is a success as an ergonomic chair for those who already have fairly good posture. If you are one of these people, I think you'll find this chair more than adequate and very comfortable. If you are used to slouching, or like to cross your legs, this may not be the chair for you. As a side note, I've been told that ergo chairs do encourage you to sit ergonomically, so it's possible that my bad posture will be corrected through prolonged use of the NeueChair. I anxiously await that day and hope for better comfort.

Hi Kenny, thank you for the detailed review and we really appreciate the thought and time taken to write this. You've got it spot on that the NeueChair is ergonomically designed to help you maintain a healthy and proper sitting posture that will keep you comfortable and focused. That said, you may find yourself unaccustomed to sitting in a proper posture at first as your body will take time to get used to it, including having your lower back kept supported (and hence preventing you from slouching). With regard to the headrest, it's something we will take into serious consideration. We're also grateful for your other points of feedback as we strive to continually improve our products. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team at [email protected] should you have any other questions or issues that we can help with.
The ergonomic chair with style
My old leather office chair I got from a big box office store was finally wearing down. While super padded it was comfortable from less than ideal positions (hunching over, slouching, etc) where long sitting sessions would destroy my lower back and trying to sit up straight in it was near impossible from lack of support. I do a lot of photo / video editing and gaming / streaming, so I was looking for a chair to help alleviate some of my back pains during extended sessions. So obviously I decided to look into ergonomic chairs. I checked out the often mentioned Herman Miller Aerons, and the price was ridiculous. Found a desk store that had used Aerons, and they were beat up and honestly not that comfortable. All the ergonomic chairs I did like were either huge and expensive or comfortable and ****. I have a buddy that swears by his SecretLabs Omega and was considering it as it offered the lumbar pillow and was tastefully designed and not flashy like most racing styled gaming chairs. That's when I stumbled on the NeueChair. I was apprehensive at first since there were so few reviews, but the ones that I did find said this chair blew the Herman Millers out of the water, whats more is its a gorgeous chair. Beautifully designed and looks great in my office. The mesh keeps me cool, whereas my old leather chair would get really hot when gaming and the computer pumping out heat. The controls on the chair are intuitive and easy to access. I love the tension control on tilt back, and the lumbar, while uncomfortable on my initial sitting, is doing wonders on my lower back and is now an unnoticeable but perfect addition to this chair. My packaging came pretty badly damaged in shipping but the chair was nestled far away from any wall of the box, and securely packaged and completely undamaged itself. I really wanted to get the dark grey color of the chair but for the extra price and wait time I took my chance with the silver hoping it would come off as to "chrome" like, and to my liking it is a great finish. Not to shiny as to seem cheap, but shiny enough it still feels very classy. I may still get the darker color later for my other office. One note, is while testing other chairs I did find chair with headrests that I really liked, and was sad to see this did not have an option for an add on headrest. With it being a new chair I was hoping they would have a headrest option soon, and from my reading it does look like they have one in the works, so I am very excited for that.

Best chair owned to date
Love the functionality and comfort of chair. Bonus was the setup, chair comes assembled just attach too to bottom and done! No regrets.
Great chair
I've had the chair for a while now, was waiting for the headrest accessory to release before doing a review. Now that I have that I can say that the full setup is very nice. The chair appears very well built, it is also quite heavy and stable. Buttery smooth reclining action. It is very stylish while being functional, a beautifully designed chair, the triggers under the arm rests are quite handy. The headrest matches the rest of the chair very nicely and allows you to effectively lock the back into a reclined position, lean back and relax in a way that isn't horrible for posture. I got this chair mostly to help with my bad posture, and the fact my previous chair was nearly 15 years old and was very squeaky. Nice having a nice quiet chair. Took a bit getting use to, the first week resulted in some sore-ish back muscles as they adjusted to sitting properly and now it feels very nice. Giving this chair 5 stars, however that doesn't mean there isn't room for some improvement. This chairs most closest competition seems to cost a few hundred extra more dollars though, for the price point and quality this chair is amazing. What I would like to see on future iterations is: -have the arm rests tilt back in relation to the back rest position rather than remaining flat with the base part. The chairs at my work have managed to integrate a reclining aspect to the arm rests, while still keeping the base flat. No idea what brand of chairs those are though. -More adjustability in the arm rest position. They swivel, but there's a huge gap from the back of the arm rests to the back rest, can't shift the arm rests forward/back or from side to side. Overall though, love the chair, and also love that the brand name isn't plastered over the new headrest, that'd have detracted from the otherwise beautiful aesthetic. I can highly recommend this chair.

Neue chair
I received my chair a few weeks ago, even got it earlier than expected! At first the chair takes some time to get usee to but after 2 weeks or so its extremely comfortable. The build quality is top notch however i did receive mine with a pretty nice scratch on the inside back of the metal frame. I had sent the picture to them and they were quick to respond. They concluded i had done the scratch mysleft when i assembled it due laying it down per instructions, but the scratch wss there prior and i assemble on carpet and took extra caution as this is a $500 chair. My ticket was more of informational for the team that something either in assembly or shipping methods there is a potential flaw. Overall i am very happy with the chair and my posture while sitting in it has improved and puts less strain on my back.
